How the Luna Chick boutique got its name and its name is on the bricks
A Brickshell boutique has made a splash with its first brick.
The Luna Chick brick-and-mortar store in Toronto has a name that will forever be associated with its name.
“The name is so iconic that I thought it would be nice to get it on the store,” said shop owner Amanda Noyes.
“It was so fun, so different.”
Noye said she’s thrilled with the store’s new name.
The shop was originally called Luna Chucks, but when Noyen put up the name on the shop’s website, the word “Luna” was missing from the title.
“We didn’t know what to do with it,” said Noyez.
“I was so proud of it.”
The Luna Chuck boutique opened last October and Noyedes has been making the rounds of Toronto’s big city, looking for a customer base.
The owner said she has had to get creative to find people who love the brand and have some fun with the name.
Luna Chick is the name of a popular chain of Luna bars and restaurants.
The brand is now available in Ontario and in other provinces and territories.
Noys said she thinks Luna Chick will continue to thrive in Toronto because of its unique brand.
“People come to the Luna Chicks because it’s a fun name to go with something different,” she said.
“But I think it will really be something special.”
Luna Chick started out as a small coffee shop in the summer of 2016 in the West Village, and now has stores in Toronto, Kitchener, and Kingston.
“There’s a really big Luna fanbase in Ontario, and I think Luna Chinks is going to be a big part of that,” Noyse said.
