Boutique hotels are a hit with new customers
Boutique hotel guests are showing up in droves to visit the trendy boutiques in New York City, the latest evidence that luxury hotels are gaining a new following.
According to a new survey by hotel bookers and booking websites Hotels.com and TripAdvisor, a new wave of luxury hotel customers have come to New York’s tourist hotspot since the summer.
The survey found that the number of hotel bookings in New Jersey jumped from 7,000 to more than 30,000 between August and September.
It also found that hotel booker Mark Pincus, a veteran hotel owner, has been seeing a lot of new hotel book-seekers.
Pincus has been helping new visitors navigate the city with his bookings site.
He said there was a surge in demand because of the number and quality of hotels opening all over New York.
“There’s so many new people coming to the city now and that’s why I’m seeing a spike in bookings,” he said.
The popularity of boutique hotels in the area has been growing for years, as more people have begun to visit tourist destinations outside of Manhattan.
In addition to being the destination for high-end boutiques like Tiffany and Louis Vuitton, Manhattan also attracts the upscale hotel industry.
The trend is not limited to the United States.
Boutique rooms in New Zealand have been opening since the early 1990s, with a record number of new bookings since 2008.
According a recent report from Tourism NZ, hotel bookiers are seeing a new trend in the tourism industry, with tourists visiting tourist attractions and shops in foreign countries and returning home with new spending habits.
“People are looking for more of an experience, they’re looking for a more relaxed experience,” says Steve Smith, chairman of the New Zealand Tourism Council.
“The longer they stay in the country, the more they want to come back.”
While boutique hotels are still very much a niche activity in New Japan, they have become a major tourist attraction since the arrival of the first luxury hotels in Japan in the 1980s.
The luxury hotels have since expanded to include other luxury categories, like restaurants, shopping malls and even luxury apartments.
According the hotel booking website Booking.com, the number on its website of luxury hotels tripled between the end of 2016 and the end, September, 2018, from 11,734 to 14,823.
Hotel bookers say that luxury hotel guests make up a significant percentage of their business.
“A lot of people will come from all over the world,” said Pincuses partner.
“They’re here to experience the culture and see all the different things they can do in Japan.”
We’re seeing that a lot with the first wave of tourists.
They come to see these places, to eat and have a good time.
And then after a while they come back to come visit the hotels again.
“He said that he was confident that more than half of his guests would come back after they spend time in the hotels.”
If you stay for a while, you’re going to see some of the places you didn’t see before,” he added.
