When you’re a posh lady, you can’t help but look stylish
What do you do when your boyfriend or girlfriend starts getting into the habit of wearing expensive jewellery?
You go for a new style, which means you need to dress like one too.
If you’re looking for the perfect dress for the holidays, the look for a posher woman could be the one.
“It’s about getting the most out of your clothes,” says Victoria Boddington, a fashion expert and author of the book, Fashion as an Unspoken Code.
“If you’re going for a nice casual look, it’s best to go for something that’s not too expensive.
The most expensive clothes are those that you can wear on the weekends or evenings when you’re out.”
And the look you like for the holiday season can also have an impact on how you feel when you spend it.
“Women have a certain set of habits that are very important,” says Boddart, who’s a lecturer in fashion and fashion studies at the University of Cambridge.
“They tend to be quite relaxed and don’t have any pressure to look good.
They’re not expecting to be noticed, so they don’t want to spend money on things that they’re not going to use.”
If you want to take your outfit to the next level, you need a good fit and you need something that is flattering.
If it’s a blazer, you’ll want a suit jacket that is slimming but has a pocket at the back for a wallet.
If your look is slightly more formal, opt for a tailored suit or jacket that gives you a classic but not too-casual feel.
If that looks like you’re wearing a tailored shirt, you may be a little too conservative, and the outfit is not a good choice.
“Don’t think that your wardrobe should be a reflection of who you are, because that’s a bit of a stereotype,” says Sian Babb, a professor of psychology at the Goldsmiths, University of London, and author, The Perfect Body.
“Think about what you want and what you need and what’s comfortable and then choose the clothes that fit you best.”
You should wear your wedding dress or wedding dress accessory as part of your outfit, rather than your main piece of clothing.
You should also keep the colours you wear at home in mind, especially when shopping for a dress.
If the dress you’re buying is made of a colour that you don’t usually wear, the store will often ask you to choose a different colour or choose one of its colours.
“I think that it’s important to remember that your dress is just as important as the jewellery you’re choosing,” says Louise Taylor, author of The Perfect Dress.
“So if you have a really great dress that you love, you should just wear it and leave it at that.
It will not reflect well on you.”
What you wear can also influence how much you look good and how comfortable you are.
“For men, the most important thing to remember is that the best thing about being a good dresser is that you’re comfortable and you don’ think about what other people are wearing,” says Taylor.
“The next most important is to look at what you wear to work.
And for women, it is a little more subtle.
If they have a nice dress on, it doesn’t matter how it’s dressed or what it’s embellished.
They should look good, too.”
To keep the trend alive, keep looking for pieces that are more tailored and less expensive, and make sure that the colour matches your look.
“When I see an expensive dress on the shelf, I just say, ‘It’s not me.’
It doesn’t mean I’m going to make an extravagant purchase, but I want to look different,” says Lorna Wood, author and fashion consultant, The Style You Need.
“We have to be really aware of what people are looking at and what they’re thinking about.”
When it comes to the best time to wear your new outfit, look at it at a glance, so you don
